2020 Lenten Donation Drive

My Dear Parishioners,

I write to you in the midst of this pandemic and I hope that this message finds you in good health. Please know that prayers are continually offered at St Elijah for all of our members especially for those who are afflicted and those that care for them. I hope that you are able to join us in prayers, virtually, as we have started to live stream our services online.

During these trying times, we as Orthodox Christians and as human beings, have the great responsibility to care for one another, and especially for those in need, both inside and outside of our parish boundaries. It is during the Great Lent that we make an extra effort to fulfill the commandment of our Lord to feed the hungry and meet the needs of the least of His brethren. (Matthew 25:31-40)

Last year during the Great Lent our first donation drive was a success and it is our desire to keep that initiative going, especially in these difficult times. The Neighborhood Resilience Project is run by the Orthodox community in the Hill District of Pittsburgh and they need our support. Below you will find the flyer with the specific instructions on how you can help. You can learn more about the Project by visiting their website: https://neighborhoodresilience.org

Personally, and on behalf of the Fellowship and Ministry Committee, I thank you for your generosity and continuous support. If you have any questions concerning this project, please contact the coordinators, Marija Yaramus at 724-312-5914 or Diane Knapp at 412-475-4843.

In Christ Yours,
Rev. Branislav Golic, Parish Priest
